Mobile phones have become part of our daily lives. We make calls, text friends, take pictures and do a whole lot with the mobile device. A report by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) said there were about six billion subscriptions at the end of 2011.There are nearly seven billion people on Earth. Almost one billion subscriptions were in China, the study found.

Cell phones provide efficient and easy way to communicate with family, friends and loved ones thereby making lives better. One  can send and receive text and multimedia messages, check the news updates, make and receive calls, research and play music all on one device, the mobile phone. Also the introduction of Mobile Money Transaction Services is also improving lives and business as it provides  efficient and secure ways of sending money through the mobile phone. It avoids the long queues at the banks and the dangers of carrying money along.
Aside all the numerous benefits the cell phone brings to us, it also has it's side effects. As the saying goes
"Anything that has an advantage has a disadvantage".
The mobile system works like a two way radio and includes individual handsets and the base stations. Base station antenna's are mounted high above the ground or on a tower and sometimes roof to get the widest coverage. A mobile phone has a radio  receiver and transmitter which transmits power when on.
When you make a call, the phone use Radio Frequency Radiation via it's antenna to talk to a nearby base station. Once the base station receives your signal, your call is directed through the land-line phone system which in turn diverts the call to the recipients phone.

Even though cell phones are considered to be Low Power Radio Frequency Transmitters, prolong exposure to Radio Frequency Radiation can lead to short/long term effects to the brain of both the young and old.
Aside this, the mobile phone can also lead to :

Joint pains:

It can cause your elbows, wrists, forearms and other joints to pain you. Prolong usage of the cell phone can also cause you neck and back pains and strange posture.

A more stressful life:

Constant ringing, texting, vibration etc. can put your life on the edge. One minute your are making a call, the next minuter you're replying your facebook, whatsapp, viber, tango etc. messages all at a go. It can just blow your head off. It can cause disturbance and sleep disorders among men and women.

Risk of eye problem:

Staring at your mobile device can cause problems in your vision later in life. Screens on mobile devices tend to be smaller than computer or television screens, which means you are more likely to squint and strain your eyes while reading messages. The more you squint your eyes, lenses in our eyes widen up. Continuous widening up will cause it to loose up. This can cause blurred vision, dizziness, and dry eyes. Which can impair your vision later in life. And Doc. will tell you "Hey you need Glasses".
